The single most cost-effective thing you can do for your pavement — seal the cracks, keep water out, and stop potholes before they ever start.
Every crack in your asphalt is an open door for water. Rain runs into the crack, soaks the base underneath, and weakens the pavement from below. Southern summer heat and cooler winter nights make asphalt expand and contract, and the crack keeps widening. Before long, that thin line becomes a pothole or a patch of spider-web cracking that needs to be cut out and replaced.
Crack sealing stops that cycle. Bama Georgia Paving cleans each crack with compressed air to remove dirt and debris, routs wider cracks when needed so the sealant has a proper channel, and fills them with hot-pour rubberized sealant that stays flexible as the pavement moves. The result is a watertight seal that protects the base and dramatically slows the aging of your asphalt.
Crack sealing works best on cracks that are still relatively narrow and on pavement that’s structurally sound. If the cracking has already spread into an interconnected pattern, we’ll tell you honestly that patching or repair is the better answer.
Dollar for dollar, crack sealing is the most effective way to extend the life of asphalt. It costs a small fraction of patching or repaving and prevents the water damage that causes most pavement failures. Paired with regular sealcoating, it can add years to your driveway or lot.
