Every surface that lasts starts with ground that’s shaped right — graded for drainage, compacted solid, and ready for paving.
Ask any experienced paver what makes asphalt last, and you’ll hear the same answer: what’s underneath it. The slope of the ground, how water moves across and away from it, and how firmly the soil and base are compacted decide whether a driveway, parking lot, or road lasts for decades or starts failing in a few years. That’s why grading and site preparation are part of every paving job we do.
Bama Georgia Paving also offers grading and site work as a service on its own. We grade land for new driveways, parking lots, and private roads; correct slopes that send water toward buildings or leave it standing; move and balance soil with cut and fill; compact subgrade; and build stone bases ready for asphalt, gravel, or recycled asphalt. We can also prepare pads and work areas for shops, barns, and outbuildings.
Because we do the grading and the paving, there’s no finger-pointing between contractors when something isn’t right. One team, three generations of experience, and one standard from the dirt up.
Poor grading is behind most of the pavement problems we’re called to fix: ponding water, cracked and sunken areas, washouts, and water running toward foundations. Getting the ground right at the start costs far less than repairing those problems later.
As a licensed Alabama General Contractor (#260383) with a 5.0 Google rating, we bring the same care to the dirt work that we bring to the final pass of the roller.
